Our family welcomes you to Civic Hotel Seattle, a vibrant and intimate boutique hotel that combines the polish of a luxury property with the comfort of your neighborhood hangout. One of the few family-owned and operated properties remaining in the Emerald City, the Civic Hotel was reborn in 2019 from a design originally conceived for the 1962 World’s Fair. We honor Space Age optimism with our own spirit of innovation. Join us as we build our own “world of tomorrow.”
Like the Space Needle that sits behind our property, the Civic Hotel was built for Seattle’s World’s Fair in 1962. We wanted to stay true to our mod 1960’s roots while updating the property to meet the needs of the modern traveler. Injecting a contemporary warmth into the streamlined aesthetic of the hotels’ mid-century design has allowed us to continue welcoming guests as we did when the doors first opened.
Civic Hotel’s central location – at the intersection of 7th Avenue and Harrison St. – is steps away from the Space Needle and mere blocks from Pike’s Place Market and Seattle’s downtown shopping district. We are surrounded by shops, restaurants, and nightlife that offer and ideal introduction to our city. And for travelers looking to explore a bit more, we’re also a convenient gateway to Seattle’s diverse neighborhoods, flavors, and experiences.
We’ve taken care of the details. From the comforts you expect – bespoke minibar offerings, luxury bath products, original art from artist Melanie Biehle, and seriously comfortable mattresses. To the conveniences that surprise you – abundant in-room USB-ports, Apolis tote bags for your shopping excursions, and water refillers on every floor. Our guest rooms embody our version of hospitality – classic luxury, irreverent formality, curated modernity – equal parts new age ethos and old-world elegance, served with unapologetic attitude and style.
We partnered with some of our best friends, and Seattle’s brightest minds, to introduce you to local artists, makers and products before you even leave the hotel. Discover Melanie Biehle’s stunning urban abstractions on a self-guided gallery tour – from your room to the elevator. Stay out of the (occasional) rain in style with Certain Standard’s colorful and sustainably manufactured umbrellas. Customize your minibar with Theo’s fair-trade, artisanal chocolates, Glassy Baby’s hand-blown votive candle holders, and DRY Soda’s naturally flavored and botanically inspired beverages. Or reserve the Macklemore Room, which pays tribute to Seattle’s legendary music scene, and imagine yourself in the music video he filmed there.
